June 2010

Robert Biggs joins Chamber of Commerce Construction hub. The hub has been set up to assist the construction industry on the Island with its initial role being to try to assist the Isle of Wight Council to rationalise its construction work procurement system and also to bring to the attention of the Local Planning Authority the thoughts and wishes of all construction professionals.

Biggs Talbot Architects in accordance with its own policy to assist schools on the Island took on two work experience students during the month.

July 2010

Works completed to refurbish building elements at Ryde Cemetery 

Works completed at Sandown Christ Church in conjunction with grant aid from English Heritage. The Grade 2 listed building was identified as a positive case study by EH's Caring for Places of Worship Survey 2010. The church is located on the Broadway adjacent to the Heights Leisure Centre and work was carried out by G.J.Banks Ltd of Cowes

Works completed at The Studio, Trinity Church Lane, Cowes

 November 2010

Works completed at St. Catherines Church, Ventnor; an English Heritage grant aided restoration of the stonework of the tower.

February 2011

Robert Biggs joins the Conservation Accredited Register of the Royal Institute of British Architects following successful assessment of application to join under the CA category.

Biggs Talbot Architects provide sponsorship funding to the Isle of Wight swimming team competing in the Island Games 2011

Biggs Talbot Architects are the architects for both the Isle of Wight Society Conservation Award 2010 and the RIBA New Build Award 2011 for their work on Ryde Cemetery and The Studio, Trinity Church Lane, Cowes
