■ Biggs Talbot Architects
Isle of Wight architects practice Biggs Talbot Architects was formed from two local practices - Andrew Talbot Chartered Architects and A.G.Biggs Partnership. The two founding directors Robert Biggs and Andrew Talbot have over 50 years combined experience locally.
The practice is based in Newport, the principal town on the Isle of Wight and the central location provides an ideal base to serve the local community. The design expertise within the practice range from working with Listed buildings and churches through to Local Authority schools and NHS healthcare projects.
Biggs Talbot Architects is part of the RIBA Chartered Practice Scheme, a designation which provides a continuously monitored high quality service level. The scheme itself is a client-focused accreditation scheme for architectural practices which aims to offer better services and protect the public. The scheme was initiated in response to clients' requirements and increased public and government pressure for consumer protection. The scheme is also a way of benchmarking both large and small practices so that staff, clients, Local Authorities and government agencies as well as contractors and suppliers can be confident that a practice with Chartered Practice status has had to satisfy compliance with strict standards relating to quality management systems and supporting staff.
